The Situation at the Front Has Intensified. Russian Invaders Are Actively Assaulting Ukrainian Positions, Attempting to Escalate the Conflict, according to Dmytro Pletenchuk, head of the Centre for Strategic Communications of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Unfortunately, we can confirm the current escalation along the line of combat contact. The enemy has been accumulating certain forces for some time to carry out this escalation," Pletenchuk said.

According to him, on Wednesday, May 29, the Russian army made 19 assault attempts, 12 of which were in several settlements in the Orikhiv direction. The majority of assaults occurred in the Staromayorske area. On the left bank, there were 7 assault attempts, one even on Nestriga Island, and 6 more on Krynky.

Pletenchuk noted that the activation of enemy actions at the front is primarily linked to preparations for the peace summit in Switzerland.

"For the Russians, this is a traditional tool of their geopolitics. Before any negotiations, even though they are not invited, the Russians always escalate the situation at the front as much as possible to strengthen their positions or show how necessary it is to negotiate with them as well," he added.
