Fox News legal analyst Andrew McCarthy said that jury notes in Donald Trump's New York hush money trial suggested that jurors are buying into the prosecution's arguments in the case.
During a Thursday Fox News segment, host Kayleigh McEnany asked McCarthy about the jury's messages to Justice Juan Merchan.
"I realize that there might be some hesitancy in reading tea leaves, but nonetheless, this first jury note that came out, when you look through what exactly was asked for, two of the pieces of evidence were from a 2015 Trump Tower meeting," McEnany noted. "There was also a 2016 phone call with David Pecker and Donald Trump that took place and one regarding the general counsel advice that was sought by David Pecker."

McEnany observed that the jury focused on evidence "key to the prosecution's argument."
McCarthy had a subdued response.
"Well, you'd have to think that they are examining the government's claim that this whole thing is not 34 counts of falsification of business records, but instead a scheme to steal the 2016 election by suppressing politically damaging information," he pointed out.
"I happen to think that's not a crime," McCarthy added.
