Top tips for implementing AI at SMBs

Artificial intelligence (AI) is unlocking previously unimagined ROI for organizations of all sizes and across all industries. That’s especially true for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs).

“SMBs stand to reap immense benefits from the power of AI,” says Katie Evans, Research Director, Worldwide Small and Medium Business Research at IDC. “With leaner staffs and budgets than their enterprise counterparts, the efficiency gains that AI can bring can be a true game-changer in giving SMBs a competitive edge.”

But adopting any emerging technology, especially one as complex and transformative as AI, poses immense challenges – challenges felt even more acutely for SMBs with those same leaner staffs and budgets.

In fact, according to IDC research, more than 40% of SMBs do not employ a full-time IT staffer, and 91% have less than five.

“These IT employees are likely tasked with keeping business operations humming and not keeping abreast of the complexities of AI,” Evans says.

Still, the benefits of AI are within reach for innovative SMBs that properly invest in the technology.

To help, Evans has shared her top tips for implementing AI at SMBs drawn from her research at IDC, including the value of partnering with a trusted advisor with a wide solution portfolio and AI PCs, like Lenovo. Watch the video.
