'I know': Top Dutch sides are now looking at signing 'exceptional' Spurs player this summer - Alasdair Gold

Alasdair Gold has claimed that top Dutch sides are looking at signing one Tottenham Hotspur player this summer.

There is expected to be plenty of turnover at Tottenham this summer as Ange Postecoglou prepares for a return to the Europa League.

The likes of Giovani Lo Celso, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Bryan Gil look set to head out the door after limited minutes under Postecoglou last season.

As for Tottenham’s host of first-team players out on loan, it’s unlikely that they will have a future upon returning to the club this summer.

But one player Spurs will have to make a decision over is Troy Parrott, who has excelled in the Netherlands over the past year. The Irishman spent the campaign on loan at Excelsior and bagged 14 times in 31 appearances.

Now, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has shared an update on the striker’s future at Spurs.

Troy Parrott receiving interest from top Eredivisie sides

Parrott, who recently admitted he’s keen to stay at Spurs, is attracting interest from the top sides in the Netherlands after an impressive spell at Excelsior.

Speaking in his latest YouTube video, Gold claimed the 22-year-old is also being watched by clubs in Italy.

“He’s a guy that people have looked at for a long time,” the journalist said. “I remember being at the UEFA Youth League matches when he played for Spurs and he’d play against the likes of Dortmund and Real Madrid.

“It was always a mirror of whoever Spurs were playing in the Champions League at the time and there were so many scouts watching him and every club he would play against took a very big interest in him, especially because he mainly scored against them as well.

“A lot of clubs across Europe are looking at him now. I know the big sides in the Eredivisie are looking at him because they’re thinking you’ve scored 14 goals for a team right near the bottom. How many are you going to score in a top team?”

“Clubs in the Eredivisie at the top are looking at him and clubs in Italy, in the Championship as well,” Gold added. “He’s got that EU passport, which makes it a lot easier for him to sign for a European club.”

Tottenham may cash in on Parrott

Given that interest in Parrott is growing, Spurs may decide it’s the right time for Parrott to move on permanently this summer.

The striker had struggled at Preston North End before heading to the Eredivisie and his value has arguably never been higher.

Postecoglou is also keen for Spurs to bring in a new striker this summer and offloading Parrott could raise funds to land the Aussie’s preferred targets.
