After Fabricio Bruno setback, West Ham now in talks to sign another player from Brazil in £26m move - Romano

After experiencing problems with a deal to buy Fabricio Bruno, West Ham are now in talks to sign another player from Brazilian football.

The Hammers thought they were close to signing the central defender in a £15m deal from Flamengo.

However, the east Londoners are now facing issues regarding the 28-year-old’s personal terms.

As Tim Steidten aims to iron out those creases, West Ham have also entered negotiations to sign a forward from the Brasileiro Serie A…

West Ham open talks to sign Luis Guilherme

As the agreement with Flamengo for Bruno faces collapse, West Ham have now turned attentions towards Palmeiras as negotiations begin over a deal to sign Luis Guilherme.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano.

The reliable Italian journalist claims that talks are “advancing” between West Ham and Palmeiras, with a €30m (£26m) package being discussed between the two clubs.

Romano adds that West Ham will “decide soon” on what to do with the Bruno deal – as the Irons struggle to convince the central defender about a move to the London Stadium.

Tim Steidten could sign a speed demon for Julen Lopetegui

If West Ham are successful in talks to sign Guilherme, Julen Lopetegui could have two of the most dangerous wingers in England on his hands next season.

The Irons already own the electric Mohammed Kudus, who dazzled supporters with his speed, dribbling skills and impressive end product throughout the 2023/24 campaign – the Ghana international scored 18 goals and provided seven assists in 48 appearances across all competitions last season.

In regards to Guilherme, the South American forward has been clocked running faster than both Erling Haaland and Darwin Nunez, so his pace could cause opponents real problems.

The 18-year-old will have to work hard to get his end product up to scratch – however – having only scored one goal in 16 appearances this term.

Nevertheless, Guilherme would certainly learn a lot from Kudus – and also Jarrod Bowen – both of whom are extremely clinical attackers.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as West Ham continue to hold talks with Palmeiras.
