Carly Pearce Reveals Heart Condition Diagnosis Will Impact Tour

Carly Pearce shared a vulnerable moment with fans, revealing that she has been diagnosed with a heart condition that will impact her performance on her upcoming tour.

In the Instagram announcement, the 34-year-old revealed that she has developed a heart condition called Pericarditis, which is inflammation of the the sac-like tissue that surrounds the heart, according to Mayo Clinic.

“I have always been transparent and honest about every area of my life, so I feel like this deserves the same honesty,” the singer begins in the video. “You guys know that I have been dealing with some health issues. Through that, I’ve developped something called Pericarditis, which is a heart issue.”

The heart condition requires her to monitor her heart rate and, as a result, the singer will need to rework some of her planned performance for the upcoming Hummingbird Tour.

“I’ve been working with doctors and talking to my cardiologist, and I still want to be out on the road, it’s really important to me, but we have all decided that it is in my best interest as I’m healing to alter my shows a little bit,” she says. “So, if my shows look a little bit different, just know it’s because I have to keep my heart rate under control right now.”

Still, Pearce assures fans that she is going to be OK, saying, “That doesn’t mean that I’m not gonna be completely fine, it just means, right now, I’ve got to really take this seriously.”

She asks for fans grace as she adjusts her upcoming show. The singer then went on to encourage fans to look after their own health.

“Truly, more importantly, if any of you are dealing with any kind of health stuff or aren’t — I’m a really healthy person that really watches what I eat and exercises and this happened to me — I just want to use my platform to tell you to take care of your body and listen to it.”

Fan comments offering support poured in for the singer, including Hillary Scott from Lady A.

“Love you! ” the “Bartender” singer wrote.

“Sending so much love your way! You have to make you and your health your number one priority. You’ve got this [and] you have a wonderful community surrounding you who love you [and] are here to support you! We understand the circumstances [and] are here to celebrate you [and] this new era,” was one of the top fan comments showing support for the country superstar.

Pearce rose to fame in 2017 with her hit single “Every Little Thing” and has developed quite a name for herself as one of the leading women in today’s country music scene. In her career she has won three CMA awards and four ACM awards.

Her fourth studio album Hummingbird is dropping June 7 on Big Machine Records. The lead single “We Don’t Fight Anymore” — a duet with Chris Stapleton — was nominated for a Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance.

The Hummingbird Tour starts in 2025 in Europe.
