Report: £26m player would now consider leaving Tottenham to join Antonio Conte at Napoli

One Tottenham player would now consider leaving N17 to join Antonio Conte at Napoli.

The Italian is close to taking on his first job since leaving Spurs in March 2023 as a return to Serie A with Napoli looms.

After a disappointing 2023/24 campaign for the Italian giants after winning Serie A in 2022/23 – Napoli finished tenth last season – reinforcements are being targeted in Naples, with one Tottenham player willing to join Antonio Conte at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona…

Radu Dragusin willing to leave Tottenham and join Antonio Conte

A story by Area Napoli now claims that Radu Dragusin is open to departing Tottenham this summer.

The Romania international only joined Spurs as recently as January in a £26m deal from Genoa, but has struggled for playing time under Ange Postecoglou.

Dragusin made just four Premier League starts under the Australian following his winter arrival.

Now, the Tottenham No.6 could seek a move to get more playing time.

Area Napoli believe Dragusin is willing to join Napoli to get back to playing regularly again, and would even consider a loan move to Naples just to get himself back on track.

If Conte fails to sign the 22-year-old this summer, Napoli could instead land Clement Lenglet, who, of course, played under the 54-year-old at Tottenham.

Agent could push Napoli move

Ever since Dragusin arrived at Tottenham, his agent – Florin Manea – has proven himself to be something of a blabbermouth.

The Romanian immediately told everybody how much he made from the £26m agreement – while even telling Postecoglou to change his formation to accommodate his client in the starting XI.

Manea also – interestingly – revealed that Napoli tried to sign Dragusin ahead of Spurs in January, before adding that it was his personal preference for the defender to move to Naples.

Dragusin’s agent told Radio CRC: “Mr De Laurentiis left a good impression on me, he was very kind. Maradona is my idol and Napoli is in my heart.

“I hope to do a deal with Napoli in the future. It wasn’t a bad offer from Napoli, it’s a pity it turned out this way, I’m a bit of a Napoli fan.”

Clearly, Manea loves Napoli, so if Dragusin does show any inkling of a desire to team up with Conte, we would expect pressure to be put on Tottenham.
