Ukraine may receive up to one million artillery shells from Czechia by year-end

He also highlighted the "critical role" Czechia plays in supporting Ukraine. He noted that Czechia provides weapons, helps train Ukrainian soldiers, coordinates the supply of shells, and assists Ukrainian refugees.

“I particularly want to commend Czechia's work in sourcing the necessary ammunition worldwide, which Ukraine needs on the battlefield, including 155mm and 152mm shells,” Voice of America quotes Blinken.

“This is critically important. By the end of the year, we expect that the Czech-led initiative will supply nearly a million shells to Ukraine.”

Czechia has already supplied $600 million in direct military aid to Ukraine. Additionally, the country will provide another $6 billion for equipment and train approximately 9,000 Ukrainian soldiers by 2025.

“The United States has generously compensated us for our military supplies to Ukraine,” said Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová.

“This includes eight H-1 helicopters and financial support of over $300 million.”
