Kickoff time, TV set for Florida-Samford game

Florida’s kickoff times and TV designations now are set for the Gators’ first three games of the 2025 season. The time and network already were known for the Miami and Texas A&M games. Now, we have that information for Florida’s Week-2 matchup at The Swamp vs. Samford.

That game will be 7 p.m. ET on SEC+/ESPN+.

It previously was announced the Gators will play Miami on August 31 at 3:30 p.m. on ABC. The Gators’ Sept. 14 game against the Aggies also is set for 3:30 p.m. on ABC. Both of those games also are at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

*Aug. 31: vs. Miami (Gainesville, Fla.) at 3:30 p.m. on ABC
*Sept. 7: vs. Samford (Gainesville, Fla) at 7 p.m. on SECN+/ESPN+
*Sept. 14: vs. Texas A&M (Gainesville, Fla.) at 3:30 p.m. on ABC
*Nov. 2: vs. Georgia (Jacksonville, Fla.) at 3:30 p.m. on ABC

Gators coach Billy Napier enters Year 3 in Gainesville with an 11-14 record so getting off to a good start in 2025 will be pivotal for the program.

Florida has played Samford just once; The Gators won 70-52 in a wild shootout back in 2021.

Florida and Miami have met 56 times with the ‘Canes holding a slim 29-27 all-time series lead. Additionally, Miami has the edge in games played at The Swamp, 12-9. Florida has not played Miami in Gainesville since 2008. That season, the Gators beat the ‘Canes 26-3 in front of 91,000 fans.

This will be the seventh matchup between the Gators and Aggies, and the fourth since 2017. The Gators won 41-22 in 2022 during their last meeting. That game was in College Station, Texas. The all-time series is tied 3-3.
