'For me...': Real Madrid star Rodrygo now makes honest admission about Man City after UCL meeting

Real Madrid star Rodrygo has made an honest admission about Manchester City after facing the club in the Champions League.

Rodrygo will be playing in the final on Saturday, with Real Madrid having booked their place against Borussia Dortmund.

After beating Manchester City over two legs, Real then beat Bayern Munich and will be looking to win the trophy for a whopping 14th time.

Real will be the overwhelming favorites, although Dortmund will be looking to make up for their defeat at Wembley against Bayern Munich back in 2013. They lost to their domestic rivals 2-1.

Real have reached the final after toppling City in the quarter-final. The tie was still all square after 210 minutes and a penalty shootout was required.

City lost, but Rodrygo now admits that City were better, and also made another honest admission…

For a lot of Manchester City fans, the defeat to Real Madrid on penalties still hurts.

City had been so good in the Champions League in 2023/24, but got unlucky against the Spanish heavyweights, who just seem to have a stranglehold on the competition.

Many felt City could do back-to-back titles.

But it wasn’t to be and Pep will go again next season, potentially for the final time as Manchester City manager.

Rodrygo has conducted an interview with GQ Espana ahead of Saturday’s final, and he admits City were better than Real, and also believes City are top dogs in the game right now.

He said: “To be honest, we knew they were better. For me, it’s the best team in the world, the one that plays the best football.

“I think the toughest opponent is gone, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy now to win the final. With Bayern, it was very difficult and with Borussia, it will be very difficult as well.”

Fair play to Rodrygo

It’s interesting to hear Rodrygo admit that City were better, and also intriguing that he’s branded City the best team in the world, amid there being some speculation about his future at the moment.

It has been claimed that Kylian Mbappe’s imminent arrival at the Bernabeu might push him out, although it has also been played down by some publications.

Hypothetically speaking, Rodrygo would be such an amazing signing for City if there was a chance to get him this summer, especially with Bernardo Silva possibly leaving.

Most of the talk is usually always about another Brazilian at Real Madrid, Vinicius Jr. But Rodrygo is a top, top player and definitely has the technical quality, tactical flexibility and work-rate to play in a Guardiola team.

Anything can happen in the transfer window, and hopefully, City would be there if Rodrygo wanted out. He would probably be incredibly expensive though.
