Mykhaylo Mudryk thinks £60m Arsenal target is actually 'not ready' for a big move

Mykhaylo Mudryk has advised one Arsenal target that he’s not ready for a big move to the Premier League.

Mudryk was once a key target for Mikel Arteta at the Emirates. The Gunners tried extremely hard to sign him in January 2023, but Chelsea won the race for him in the end.

Now, Arsenal have been linked with one of Mudryk’s international teammates, but the Chelsea star has told him to wait because he’s not ready to handle the pressure in England.

Mykhaylo Mudryk tells Arsenal target Georgiy Sudakov he’s not ready for Premier League move

Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Georgiy Sudakov since October 2023.

The 21-year-old is one of the most exciting players coming out of Ukraine. He has been linked with a move to a number of big clubs, and it looks like it’s only a matter of time before he’s snapped up.

Reports have claimed that Arsenal have a big chance of signing Sudakov this summer. The likes of Tottenham and Chelsea have also been linked with a move to get him.

Journalist Ben Jacobs claimed on CaughtOffside in April that Sudakov will be available for a fee in the region of £60 million, which is a big amount for a 21-year-old.

Whether Arsenal would be willing to pay that money remains to be seen, but Mudryk’s private advice to Sudakov should act as a warning for Arteta.

Sudakov spoke to iNews about his plans for the future, and the Ukrainian admitted that it is his dream to move to the Premier League.

However, he also revealed that Mudryk has privately told him he’s not ready to handle the pressure of the English game just yet.

Sudakov said: “I was telling Misha (Mudryk) about how much I want to play in the Premier League and how it would be great to play in the same team.

“Misha told me that I was not ready for the kind of pressure that happens in England and if I do come need to be ready for that. But I am.”

Mudryk saga in 2023 could affect Arsenal’s move for Sudakov

Sudakov is a big talent who has the potential to become a star.

The 21-year-old scored 10 goals and provided six assists for Shakhtar Donetsk in the 2023/24 season. He even scored against Barcelona in the Champions League.

It’s no surprise that Arsenal and a bunch of other clubs are keeping an eye on him, but Fabrizio Romano has revealed that a deal for Sudakov could be difficult because of the Mudryk saga in 2023.

Arsenal seemed like the favourites to sign the Ukrainian then, but Chelsea hijacked the deal at the last minute and lured him to Stamford Bridge.

Romano has suggested that Arsenal may not want to spend big on Sudakov for that reason.

He said in March: “Many clubs are following this boy because he’s a special talent, but I think Shakhtar are not going to make it easy, and also remember that between Shakhtar and Arsenal, the situation was already really tough because of the Mykhaylo Mudryk negotiation one year and a half ago.

“That was not an easy deal. We remember how Chelsea hijacked that in 24 hours, Arsenal were not happy with that story, so I’m not sure they are prepared to invest that kind of big money on another Shakhtar player.”
