The administration of US President Joe Biden has secretly allowed Ukraine to launch strikes with US weapons on Russian territory. But there are restrictions, according to Politico.

“The president recently directed his team to ensure that Ukraine is able to use US weapons for counter-fire purposes in Kharkiv so Ukraine can hit back at Russian forces hitting them or preparing to hit them,” the source said.

The interlocutor emphasized that the US policy on Ukrainian strikes deep into Russian territory has not changed.

What preceded it

The United States openly opposes Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory. In particular, Washington criticized the attacks by Ukrainian defenders on Russian oil refineries.

Also, one of the conditions for the transfer of long-range weapons to Ukraine from the United States is that they will not be used to attack Russian territory.

Despite this, several Western countries allowed Ukraine to use the transferred weapons to attack Russian territory.

In particular, today, May 30, Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Espen Barth Eide emphasized that Ukraine can attack Russia in accordance with international law.

More details on which NATO countries are not opposed to Ukraine's strikes on Russia with their weapons can be found in the material by RBC-Ukraine.
