5-star OT Michael Fasusi sets Oregon official visit

One of the elite offensive tackles in the 2025 recruiting class has scheduled a fifth official visit for the coming month.

Lewisville (Texas) five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi will take an official visit to Oregon from June 18-20, per On3’s Chad Simmons.

This week at the On3 Elite Series, an educational seminar discussing the new era of NIL and navigating life after football, Fasusi sat down with On3’s Chad Simmons to break down where things stand in his recruitment entering June.

“The environment, man, it was all love when I got down there. The whole family went, they didn’t fail to impress none of us. Just had a good time overall over there,” Fasusi said of his latest trip to Eugene. “I also watched the practice, I loved the way they go at it, a lot of competitive energy up there. I go up there, I think of O-line weather. Coach (A’lique) Terry, brings a lot to the table. His energy, special for the game. He’s so young but he’s brought so much to offer.”

Fasusi says he’s currently eyeing an August commitment ahead of his senior season, but those aren’t concrete plans. He’ll take as long as he needs to come to the correct decision — which at this rate, could take some time, given the amount of top-notch programs he’s currently attempting to sift through.

“I do believe it’s going to be hard,” he said of his eventual decision. “I think it’s gotten to that point where everyone’s like ‘what’s your number one?’ I’m like ‘I don’t got a number one, everybody’s really in a tight space.’ At the end of the day, I’m just going to let it play out and see what school comes out on top.”

Michael Fasusi Recuruit Profile

Fasusi is the nation’s No. 12 overall prospect, No. 3 OT and No. 5 recruit from Texas in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3’s Scouting and Rankings team wrote this about him as a prospect:

“Strong, physical offensive tackle with a high developmental upside. Measured in at around 6-foot-5 and close to 300 pounds prior to his junior season. Added significant size during the off-season between his sophomore and junior years. Has plus length for the position and a well-proportioned build. Registers as a solid athlete in the combine setting. Also showing encouraging improvement on the field as a junior, adding play strength. Latches onto defensive linemen and keeps his feet moving on contact. Gets a considerable push at the point of attack.

Plays with an edge and works to finish blocks with authority. Shows good lateral quickness and plays with an improved base and balance. Also participates in track and field, sporting a personal best throw of 46-10 feet in the shot put as a sophomore, a strong mark. Needs to work on his pass set technique but has the baseline skills to be a solid pass protector with coaching and work. Younger for the cycle, turning 17 years old in the summer prior to his senior season.”
