Prince William praised his 10-year-old son and heir Prince George as a "potential pilot in the making," which is something both he and his estranged brother Prince Harry have in common.
"William's hints that his son George might follow in his footsteps and become a pilot will certainly remind Harry of everything he is missing — after all Harry was himself a helicopter pilot and would love to entertain his nephew with tales of his own time in the air," royal author Tom Quinn shared.
"It's a sad reminder that he has no relationship at all with George," he added.
This follows the Prince of Wales and Kate, Princess of Wales' wish to reportedly want to see their niece and nephew, Princess Lilibet and Prince Archie, but Meghan Markle has refused.
"There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the U.K.," Quinn told an outlet in April. "William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to make up, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far."
This insight comes after royal historian Tessa Dunlop dished: "Harry is the self-identifying royal 'Spare.' And in the wake of his sister-in-law's health revelations, I expect he feels more spare than ever."
If reports are to be believed, Harry and Meghan were only told of the Princess of Wales' cancer diagnosis one day before the general public when HRH released a video of herself revealing the illness.
"Harry was told about Kate's cancer the day before Kate's video was released, and they are definitely being kept up-to-date with Kate's condition — apart from anything else, ignoring the couple completely would only lead to public attacks from Harry and Meghan and how they are being kept out of the loop and treated badly as usual," Quinn observed based on palace insider reports.
"They already feel annoyed and frustrated that they are no longer prioritized when it comes to this sort of thing — it just reinforces their sense of victimhood, and that, rather than leaving the royal family, they were pushed out," he added when highlighting how Team Sussex processes royal actions. "They are being told things in advance, but only the major things."
It is believed that both the Prince and Princess of Wales have not seen nor spoken to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet since June 2022, at the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee celebrations. There are currently no plans set for the Sussex duo to reunite with the royals or help orchestrate an opportunity for the young regal cousins to meet one another.
