Dallas Mavericks advance to NBA Finals for the first time since 2011

The Dallas Mavericks secured a spot in the NBA Finals for the third time in their club's history after a 124-103 win against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday evening.

The Mavericks, led by star players Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, dominated the first half of the game, building a 29-point half-time lead.

In the end, Doncic and Irving both scored 36 points, securing an undisputed win for the Mavericks, who dominated the Western Conference finals, breezing through in five games.

After the game, Mavs and NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki expressed his excitement about the team making it to the finals by writing, "Finals!!! Let's go!" on social media platform X.

The Mavericks had made it to the NBA Finals twice, both during Nowitzki's era.

In 2006, the Mavs lost to the Miami Heat, but they won their first and only championship five years later, getting their revenge. At that time, the current Dallas head coach, Jason Kidd, played an important role in the squad led by Germany's Nowitzki.

The Mavericks will face the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals, who swept the Indiana Pacers 4-0 in the Eastern Conference series. The first game of the NBA Finals will take place on June 6 in Boston.
