Lithuania is ready to deploy military instructors to assist in training troops within Ukraine, according to Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė.
"Lithuania, if needed, maybe would train them also in Ukraine in partnership with countries that would be willing to do so," Šimonytė said.
As reported by Le Monde, French President Emmanuel Macron seeks to establish a European coalition of military instructors in Ukraine.
According to the sources, consultations on this issue are expected to accelerate in the coming days, so that an announcement can be made during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to France on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings on June 6 and 7.
Earlier, Reuters reported that France might soon send military instructors to Ukraine. According to the publication's sources, France will initially send a limited number of personnel to assess the mission's conditions, followed by several hundred instructors.
French President Emmanuel Macron was the first among Western leaders to suggest the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine in February 2024.
