It is difficult for China to participate in the upcoming peace summit in Switzerland, as Beijing's demands have not been accommodated, citing China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokeswoman Mao Ning.

Ning said that among Beijing's demands was equal participation for Russia and Ukraine in the peace summit, as well as honest discussions on all peace plans.

She added that the demands are supposedly fair and not aimed against any party. However, due to China's proposals being ignored, it's difficult for Beijing to participate in the meeting.

"We have informed the relevant parties of China's considerations and concerns. We will continue to promote peace and negotiations in our way, maintain communication with all parties, and jointly create conditions for the political settlement of the 'Ukrainian crisis," she added.

The peace summit will take place in Switzerland from June 15 to 16. Overall, more than 150 countries will participate, excluding the Russian Federation. The terrorist country will be allowed to attend subsequent sessions.

Recently, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy publicly invited his American and Chinese counterparts, Joe Biden and Xi Jinping, to participate.
