Kansas State has continued its pursuit of final pieces in the transfer portal. The most recent addition is former All-CUSA cornerback from Rice, Jordan Dunbar.
Dunbar was all-conference in 2022, while he also snagged all-freshman team honors in 2021. Dunbar redshirted in 2023 and will come to Kansas State with two years of eligibility remaining.
During his time at Rice, Dunbar made 44 tackles and was credited for 17 pass deflections. Prior to going to Rice, Dunbar was a native of New York state. His most notable offer out of high school came from Tulane.
While in the transfer portal, Dunbar had offers from notable Group of 5 schools, such as Marshall, Temple, East Carolina, UNLV, Charlotte, Georgia Southern, Western Kentucky and Arkansas State. None of those schools made the cut though, as Dunbar flipped his commitment late from Ohio to Kansas State.
The situation that Dunbar walks into at K-State involves established corners like Jacob Parrish and Keenan Garber, but the opportunity to claim playing time behind those two.
In total, Dunbar is transfer addition number 10 for K-State in the 2024 offseason.
