Russian invaders attacked two Ukrainian hydroelectric power plants on the night of June 1. The consequences of shelling are eliminated, according to Ukrhydroenergo.

It is noted that there were also hits on infrastructure near the stations, causing critical damage to the equipment. Specialists are working to address the consequences.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has launched over 110 missiles at all hydroelectric and pumped storage power plants.

It should be added that Ukrhydroenergo did not specify which hydroelectric power plants were attacked. However, it is known that in Zaporizhzhia, the movement across the Dnipro HPP dam was blocked on the morning of June 1. This station was attacked by the Russians in March 2024.

What is known about the night attack

On the night of June 1, energy facilities in five regions of Ukraine were attacked: Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, and Ivano-Frankivsk. Fires broke out at some of the sites.

DTEK (Ukraine's main energy company - ed.) reported that the Russians shelled two thermal power plants that night.

The Ministry of Energy warned that the schedules for power outages in Ukraine might change today due to the new damage. It was previously reported that the schedules would be in effect from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM in all regions.
