Russians active in three directions: New General Staff report

The most intense fighting on the front line is occurring in three directions in Donetsk region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are responding vigorously to the aggressors' assaults and advances, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russians from their own territory continue to strike with guided aviation bombs in the Kharkiv region. From the direction of Belgorod, the enemy hit Vovchansk with one guided aviation bomb and Lyptsi with three bombs. Additionally, occupiers targeted Borova in the Kupiansk direction with two guided aviation bombs.

In the Lyman direction, Russian invaders persist in attempting to improve their positions near Torske and Terny. Ukrainian defenders repelled two attacks here, with one ongoing near Torske.

Russian activity has intensified in the Siversk direction, where six clashes are ongoing. Ukrainian defenders repelled one enemy assault near Vyimka.

Twice, aggressors attempted to attack in the Kramatorsk direction near Novyi and Klishchiivka. Both attempts were unsuccessful.

In the Pokrovsk direction, today has seen the highest intensity of enemy attacks. The overall number of combat actions since the beginning of the day has risen to 14. According to the General Staff, the situation is tense but under control.

Fighting continues in theKurakhove direction. Since the beginning of the day, Defense Forces units have repelled 10 enemy assaults, with two more clashes ongoing.

The enemy is attacking with aviation support in the Vremivsk direction. Russian occupiers deployed 10 unguided aerial bombs around the Staromaiorsk area. Combat is still ongoing there.

Events in the Kharkiv region

Since May 10, the Russians have launched a renewed offensive in the northern part of the Kharkiv region. The occupiers have reached the town of Vovchansk but have not advanced further.

As noted by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, the Russian army is attempting to press Ukrainian positions using artillery and aerial bombs.

Against the backdrop of the Russian offensive, the United States and Germany have authorized Ukraine to use provided weaponry to strike at border regions of Russia where attacks on Kharkiv may be prepared.
