Full extent of Mohamed Salah transformation becomes clear after Liverpool star shaves head

Liverpool supporters went into meltdown last week after it emerged that Mohamed Salah’s iconic look was no more.

Ever since he arrived at Anfield, Salah has sported a short curly afro. It has become his trademark style.

However, after seven years of being instantly recognisable on the pitch, the Egyptian has taken drastic action. From a picture Salah posted on social media, it became clear that the famous locks were no more.

Despite some initial comparisons to incoming head coach Arne Slot and his bald look, it was a little unclear to see just how short Salah’s hairstyle was.

Now though, fresh photographs of the Liverpool forward show exactly what he’s he’s decided to go for.

Mohamed Salah shows off fresh new look

As if Salah’s apparent transformation was not enough, Liverpool fans saw Roberto Firmino make his own drastic style change over the week, too.

All we need now is for Sadio Mane to shave out his trademark blonde streak and the evolution of Liverpool’s iconic front three will be complete.

Obviously, Mo’s hair is not the most important thing going on with him this summer. There are still serious doubts over Salah’s immediate future at Liverpool.

Although it now looks more likely that Salah will stay than leave, nothing can be taken for granted.

Another point of contention with the 31-year-old was whether he would be allowed to play in the Olympic Games for Egypt. It now looks like Liverpool should win the battle for Salah not to be called up [Liverpool ECHO].

Nevertheless, the Liverpool legend has still been called up for his national team’s two World Cup qualifiers in June.

And ahead of those matches, the Egyptian FA took to X to show Salah arriving at the training camp. His hair really has all gone.

What’s the latest on Mohamed Salah to Saudi Arabia?

For the time being, all seems to be relatively quiet on the Salah front. He’s expected to be part of the Liverpool squad next season.

There are still plenty of rumblings that the Reds are planning who could play in his position in the future.

Johan Bakayoko has been put forward as a player who could be signed if Salah does leave.

But as things stand, it doesn’t look like there’s anything especially imminent in that regard either. For that reason, we don’t see Salah leaving.

If the Saudis do come back in with another massive offer, then it will be fascinating to see how Liverpool react. But with claims that the Reds will want at least £100m, we don’t see it happening.

So, we’d expect that we’ll get a chance to see Salah and his haircut in all its glory in a Liverpool shirt next season.
