Texas enjoyed the first pitch they saw on Saturday night with Jared Thomas hitting a ball out of the park. But since then, Texas A&M’s Ryan Prager has been dialed in. Through five innings, the Longhorns have just two hits and have not been able to get anything going on offense.

David Pierce knew Prager was going to be a tough matchup coming into the night, noting his ability to mix pitches well. When Texas does get a pitch they can hit, Pierce highlighted how crucial it was to take advantage. Not too many opportunities could come around as the game continues.

“It’s pretty obvious we got to get him up,” Pierce said. “He’s really good and he can really mix. So, we just got to get him up. When we get a pitch, we can’t miss it.”
