Bassingbourn racer Jenson Mason records first ever BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship victory at Snetterton

Jenson Mason chalked up his first ever BRSCC Fiesta Junior Championship victory earlier this month.

The Bassingbourn racer initially finished second in the opening race at Snetterton in Norfolk.

However, following a post-race review, the judges ruled that winner Finn Leslie had gained an unfair advantage earlier in the race – a decision that saw Mason promoted to first place.

And the Bassingbourn Village College pupil followed that up with a runner-up finish in the second race of the meeting.

“It was a bit unexpected having won because Finn got swapped around, but I was over the moon,” said Mason.

“I was really surprised. I hoped I’d be at the front but I wasn’t thinking that I was going to win one of the races.”

The season continues on 8-9 June at Oulton Park.
