'Really concrete': Fabrizio Romano delivers new update on Leeds United star 'expected' to leave

Fabrizio Romano has delivered a new update on the future of one Leeds United player who is “expected” to leave Elland Road in the coming weeks and months.

Paraag Marathe confirmed Leeds will have to sell players to balance the books after The Whites missed out on promotion to the Premier League, losing 1-0 to Southampton in the play-off final at Wembley.

It comes after reports of Leeds owing £190m in transfer fees, in clauses. Marathe has also made it clear that fee is to as bad as it first seems, with cash coming in from selling Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra.

Further sales are required, with Summerville the most-likely to depart. Willy Gnonto is also keen on an exit this summer, with the winger keen on a return to Italian football after leaving Inter Milan for Zurich.

Romano has given an update on Summerville’s future, with Liverpool recently said to have decided not to firm up their interest in the Dutchman while Chelsea are also said to be keen on landing Summerville.

Romano delivers update on Crysencio Summerville’s future

Summerville was always going to attract attention this summer having had a hand in 31 goals for The Whites during the 2023-24 season, as well as winning The Championship’s Player of the Season award.

The former Feyenoord ace could be on his way then and Italian transfer expertRomano has commented on his YouTube channel, declaring the state of play regarding Summerville’s potential exit from Leeds.

“Crysencio Summerville is expected to change clubs and there are two monitoring Crysencio Summerville more than others. Liverpool and Chelsea. Let’s see what they will decide to do in terms of negotiation.

“We are not yet at that stage, but the interest is really concrete with these two clubs involved. Let’s see if some other club will move behind the scenes. For sure, one to watch for the summer transfer window.”

Jon Newsome predicted Summerville exit and four others

Speaking immediately after the loss to Southampton at Wembley, former Leeds player Newsome said Summerville would be “on his way” out of Elland Road as well as Gnonto come the summer window.

Newsome also expects interest in Welsh duo Dan James and Ethan Ampadu, predicting a possible move to Southampton for James. He also expects Joe Rodon to leave given he is only on loan at Tottenham.

Summerville is likely to rake in the most cash for Leeds this summer in terms of player sales, if of course The 49ers can deter interest in Archie Gray. Much will happen this summer, Summerville is the most-likely.
