Cesc Fabregas says player Man City let go in 2018 was actually an expert in one particular area

Cesc Fabregas has claimed that a player Manchester City let go six years ago was an expert in one department.

Having played in the Premier League for several years, Cesc Fabregas has faced some of the very best players to have ever graced the division.

From Roy Keane up to Yaya Toure, the former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder played in two different eras of the English top-flight.

Cesc Fabregas says former Man City player was an expert in one area

Cesc Fabregas was quizzed about how many spot-kicks Joe Hart had saved in the UEFA Champions League — saving the most in the competition’s history, in a video shared on him by X.

Fabregas answered five, however, the correct answer was two.

The retired technician said about the former Manchester City number one: “He’s a good penalty-saver.”

As Cesc Fabregas stressed, Joe Hart was brilliant at saving penalties, keeping both Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s attempts from the spot at bay in 2015 and 2016 respectively.

Considering both Messi and Ibrahimovic were renowned for scoring spot-kicks at will, it was impressive, to say the least that the Englishman stopped them from putting the ball in the back of the net.

Joe Hart has stopped some of the very best from the penalty spot

Cesc Fabregas is especially correct about Joe Hart, who has also saved penalty attempts from Ronaldinho and Frank Lampard.

Hart made a tremendous double-save, diving to his left to keep Ronaldinho’s initial attempt put before scrambling to the opposite side whilst being on the floor to stop him from scoring a tap-in.

In 2013, Lampard, who was an expert at scoring penalties could not do so past Hart, who correctly dove to his right and parried his attempt away.

For any goalkeeper to stop the likes of Lionel Messi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Ronaldinho and Frank Lampard from 12 yards out is unbelievably impressive.

Joe Hart, at his very best was a remarkable shotstopper and the proof was in the pudding against some of the greats.
