Wrong for politicians to employ thuggery during crisis – Action Alliance

The leadership of Action Alliance, AA has expressed confidence in the Nigeria judiciary, following the supreme court ruling that dismissed the appeal filed by Mr Kenneth Udeze challenging his suspension and subsequent expulsion from the party.

Kenneth Udeze had appealed his expulsion from the party, despite the ruling of the Federal High Court, Abeokuta, and that of the court of appeal sitting in Ibadan, upholding the decision of the party.

The Supreme Court while delivering a judgment on the controversy, ruled that Kenneth Udeze who has been expelled from the party lacks the locus standi to occupy such a sensitive position as the National Chairman, a verdict that affirmed Omo-Aje as the authentic chairman.

Addressing Journalists in Kaduna on Sunday, the National Chairman of the party, Adekunle Rufai Omo-Aje, said, “It is absolute nonsense for politicians to take after the path of thuggery as a means of resolving crises and above all, the judiciary remains the hope of the common man.”

The National Chairman who was accompanied by the Woman Leader, AA Hajiya Aisha Abdullahi, the National Secretary, Miller Orgwu, the National Youth Leader, Adeyemo Abdulwasiu, and the State chairman of Kwara State, Oladele Sunday Whyte, called on politicians to always look at the judiciary as partners in progress rather than casting aspersions on them on alleged perception that they cannot get justice from the court.

Adekunle added that thuggery and other alternatives from the judiciary would later end in regret and called on the public to believe in the judicial system as an institution that is saddled with the responsibility of delivering verdicts on the grounds of credibility and merit.

“It is absolute nonsense to take after the path of thuggery because, at the end of the day, you will still go back to that court. One good thing about the judiciary is that if you have a judgment that is against you at the High Court, you still have the chance of going to the court of appeals where you have three better heads. Even if you lose at the court again, you still have the opportunity to go to the Highest Court.

“The best bet for everybody is to try the way of the judiciary because the judiciary is still the best. We thank God Almighty Allah for giving us victory at the Supreme Court. It is a very long journey starting from the Federal High Court Abeokuta. We were victorious but Barrister Kenneth Udeze appealed to The Court of Appeal, Ibadan,” he stressed.

He observed that at the court of appeal Ibadan, they still lost and that Kenneth Udeze instructed his lawyer to appeal the matter to the supreme court which is the highest court in the land.

He informed that now, the case has been ruled in favour of Omo-Aje again and thanked God for the lessons.

He said that from now on, there is no faction in Action Alliance again, stressing that AA is one big family under one leadership and is trying to move the party forward by the special grace of God to greater heights in the country.
