Real Madrid star confirms he's set to continue his journey with club

Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Vazquez has confirmed his plans to remain at the club after helping his side achieve Champions League glory on Saturday.

Following the euphoria of Los Blancos' triumph against Borussia Dortmund, attention quickly turned to the future of Vazquez - who was brought onto the pitch during the final moments of the game to take Vinicius Junior's place.

The Spanish star was asked to comment on the possibility of a contract extension, with his future at the club looking uncertain.

Speaking after the Champions League victory at Wembley, he said: “Yes, it looks like I’m going to stay at Real Madrid."

Vazquez's contract with the La Liga giants was due to expire this summer, prompting questions about whether he would continue his journey at the Bernabeu. However, his latest comments suggest that Madrid's hierarchy is keen to retain his services for another season.

Vazquez is a product of the Madrid academy and has made 349 appearances for the club since breaking into the first team in 2015, winning four La Liga titles and five Champions Leagues.

He would become the latest player to commit his future to Los Blancos after Luka Modric agreed a new deal to remain with the club until 2025.

Modric made the move to Madrid from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur in 2012 and has since secured six Champions League trophies and four La Liga championships, as well as numerous domestic and international honours.
