Liverpool’s summer transfer plans seems to have no boundary and the Reds could now look at the Championship again for one top talent.
Arne Slot’s arrival means fans are expecting to see a host of new arrivals and it remains to be seen just how active Liverpool will be in the market.
Of course, that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill going into overdrive already.
Players like Mohammed Kudus are being linked with the club, while the Reds are apparently also one of a number of teams keen on Aston Villa midfielder, Douglas Luiz.
Leeds winger Crysencio Summerville is another apparent target but according to journalist Ben Jacobs, one of Summerville’s teammates is also on the radar.
Liverpool among teams who could sign Archie Gray from Leeds
Commenting on all matters Leeds in a column for GiveMeSport this weekend, Jacobs has named the Reds as one of the clubs keen on Gray.
“Archie Gray, although happy at Leeds, is in demand as well. Liverpool, Arsenal, West Ham and Brighton have all been tracking him for quite some time,” Jacobs writes.
“The 18-year-old’s preference is to stay at Leeds, but a sale can’t be entirely ruled out given Leeds’ urgency to raise funds.”
Leeds are believed to be looking at around £40m to even consider selling their top youngster.
Archie Gray will leave Leeds eventually
Sadly for Leeds fans, the lack of a promotion this season means they’re likely to see players leave and Archie Gray might be one of them.
Lauded as an ‘incredible‘ young talent, Gray has been used by Daniel Farke all season as a right-back pushing into midfield and has impressed a lot.
That form and performance level, though, has seen other clubs take note and with Leeds needing to balance the books, Gray might be sold.
For Liverpool, a move for someone like Gray makes sense. He is young, plays a number of positions, and has huge potential.
The only issue right now is he’s not getting in this team so any purchase would need to see Gray go back out on loan for at least another season.
