31-year-old passenger killed in Middlesex County car crash

A 31-year-old passenger died Sunday following an early-morning crash on Route 9 in Middlesex County, authorities reported.

Old Bridge police responded to the area of Route 9 and Ferry Road after the report of a car crash at around 1:05 a.m., the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office said in a release.

At least two cars were involved in the collision, including a Mustang with four occupants and a BMW with a passenger, according to the release.

The passenger of the BMW, Kristina Godich, 31, of Manalapan, died at the scene, the prosecutor’s office said.

The BMW’s driver was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and is in critical condition.

The four occupants of the Mustang were also transported to the local hospital and are in stable condition, authorities reported.

Investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of the crash but have said all other drivers and occupants involved were treated at the scene and released.
