Report: Jose Mourinho is determined to stop Arsenal signing £26m player this summer

Arsenal’s old adversary Jose Mourinho could actually be about to stifle some of the club’s transfer plans this coming summer.

Mikel Arteta has reportedly indicated that he wants three signings before the new season commences: a striker, a midfielder and better cover at full-back.

Three moves that most Arsenal fans will likely agree with, and Edu Gaspar will now be working diligently to make those wishes a reality.

Of course, just like last summer Arsenal will be hoping to conduct their business early, and may even hope to have a deal over the line before the Euros.

Perhaps that could be the case with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko, given Arsenal have now reportedly tabled a £46m bid for the Bundesliga striker.

Of all the moves Arsenal have been linked with of late, it seems like that interest is most advanced – a striker who outperformed Harry Kane in one statistic last season.

Midfield plans still seem to be relatively early, perhaps because of Newcastle United’s firm stance on Bruno Guimaraes not leaving.

And when it comes to recruiting a new full-back, Arsenal may have hit an impasse too.

Jose Mourinho determined to keep Ferdi Kadioglu at Fenerbache after Arsenal interest

Fenerbahce’s Turkish full-back Ferdi Kadioglu has been extensively linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, interest that dates back to January.

Of course, Jose Mourinho was appointed new Fenerbahce manager on Monday which could now change things.

According to a report by Turkish outlet Star, Mourinho is determined to keep Kadioglou at the club for at least one more year, given he is regarded as their most important performer.

The information details that Arsenal are still the ‘most serious suitor’, with an approach expected this summer.

Should they sell, Fenerbahce would demand £26m for the 24-year-old, who presents a very versatile profile.

Predominantly a left-back, Kadioglu can also step into midfield or play on the right, a player who would seem well suited to Arteta’s tactical flexibility.

Of course, Mourinho may be even more reluctant to sell his star given it’s Arsenal in pursuit, who have been his rival on more than one occasion.

All that being said, Arsenal are now making a last minute attempt to keep three young players at the club this month.
