Liverpool among clubs keen on signing Rayan Cherki

According to SportZone, Liverpool are looking at Lyon star Rayan Cherki as they consider new attacking midfielders.

The Reds are looking to add quality and depth to a number of areas and another goalscoring midfielder is high on the agenda.

The tweet from SportZone claims that Liverpool and Tottenham are the English clubs keen on signing Cherki, while French giants PSG are also keen on the youngster.

Cherki, who is still just 20, is known for his versatility in the final third and can play a number of positons.

He featured more than 30 times for Lyon last season. However, he did only bag the single goal, while adding a further six assists to bolster his stats.

Cherki shares an agent with Kylian Mbappe

In an interesting little twist in this one, Cherki actually changed agents last year in what was seen as an attempt to engineer a move.

Cherki moved agencies to be represented by Fayza Lamari, who represents French superstar, Kylian Mbappe.

As we know, Mbappe has had kind words to say about Liverpool in the past and has even been linked with a move to Anfield at some stage in his career.

Further, Mbappe has also praised Cherki when he was a teenager breaking through.

Cherki, then, might well have a soft spot for Liverpool himself if he’s got links to Mbappe and this could be an avenue the Reds go down to try and wrap up a deal.
