For the first time, the MLS All-Star Game 2024 is returning to the city that hosted the event over 24 years ago.
Every year, the best players in the MLS get the opportunity to represent Major League Soccer in the MLS All-Star Game. Although the competition began as an East vs. West showdown, the format now features one cohesive MLS team against a chosen opponent.
After losing 5-0 to Arsenal last year, the MLS All-Stars will take on the best players from LIGA MX, Mexico's top soccer league. Despite their recent defeats against European clubs, the MLS All-Stars are 2-0 against the LIGA MX All-Stars.
It is only fitting that the matchup occurs in one of the most beloved stadiums in the MLS.
Where is MLS All-Star Game 2024?
The MLS All-Star Game 2024 is in Columbus, Ohio. The MLS All-Stars and the LIGA MX All-Stars will face off at Lower.com Field, home of the Columbus Crew, on Wednesday, July 24.
“It is an honor to host the 2024 MLS All-Star Game in Columbus, which is a truly special opportunity to bring our incredible sport, league, city, and stadium to the world,” said Dee and Jimmy Haslam of the Haslam Sports Group.
They continued, “Columbus and Lower.com Field will provide exceptional atmospheres for the competitions between North America’s best soccer leagues and talent, as well as for fans across the globe who will experience our city during this week-long celebration of soccer.”
The MLS All-Star Skills Challenge will also take place in Columbus, where 10 players from each side will compete in various activities, including a Shooting Challenge and a Crossbar Challenge. The event kicks off just one day before the big game.
Over 20,000 fans can fill Lower.com Field come July 23 and July 24. Tickets are currently on sale for both events on Ticketmaster, and those who cannot see the festivities unfold in person can catch all the action on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
