Emile Smith Rowe transfer stance emerges amid Arsenal exit rumours, he has one 'preference'

Emile Smith Rowe has reportedly made his transfer stance known following rumours that the Arsenal youngster could leave this summer.

News broke over the weekend that Fulham are keen to make Smith Rowe one of their main transfer targets this window, with the 23-year-old England international now likely to leave north London having hardly played for Arsenal this season.

With Smith Rowe regarded as one of Arsenal’s most dynamic and exciting players, the attacking midfielder departing this summer would be quite the blow for some fans, who are keen to see the Hale End academy graduate make the grade under Mikel Arteta.

Yet an exit now feels inevitable, with Smith Rowe having a preference as to where he wants to go this summer.

Smith Rowe prefers Premier League switch as Fulham rumour emerges

According to journalist Charles Watts, the England international prefers to remain in the Premier League, with Serie A giants Napoli believed to be interested in signing Smith Rowe as well this summer.

Indeed, a Premier League move would make the most sense for Smith Rowe given his experience in the division, and there’s now a strong chance that the 23-year-old England international could quit Arsenal for an English rival this summer.

Watts said about Smith Rowe’s situation and where the Arsenal youngster could end up: “Knowing what I know about the situation, there are options for Emile to potentially go abroad this summer.

“But his preference is if, and it’s still a big if even though it now looks likely he will leave, is that he wants to remain in the Premier League, and Fulham would tick a lot of boxes.”

Smith Rowe will thrive if he joins a Premier League team this summer

Having already shown what he is capable of in the Premier League, a move to a rival club could be ideal for Smith Rowe, with Arsenal also likely to benefit hugely in a financial sense given how much the 23-year-old could be sold for.

With Fulham seemingly leading the charge to sign Smith Rowe, Craven Cottage could be a fantastic next step for the England international with former Gooners Bernd Leno, Alex Iwobi and Willian all thriving in west London this season under Marco Silva.

And with Smith Rowe clearly good enough to be a regular in the Premier League, Fulham could be an ideal move for the attacking midfielder, who could thrive away from Arsenal if a transfer was to happen this summer.
