Penn State’s 2024 roster continues to grow. On Monday, the team announced the arrival of three more players from its most recent recruiting class, as offensive lineman Donovan Harbour, running back Corey Smith and safety Dejuan Lane are all officially on campus. Blue White Illustrated originally reported on May 24 that those three players were expected to enroll this past weekend.

Of the three, Lane is the lone four-star of the group, with Harbour and Smith both earning three-star ratings by On3. Lane is coming off a very strong showing on the track this spring, running a personal best 100-meter time of 10.64 seconds. He also had a 21.43-second 200-meter. With a handful of experienced safeties ahead of him, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound Baltimore native will likely redshirt this fall but could end up being one of the sleepers of the class.

Harbour and Smith were teammates at Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha, Wisc. Smith ended up missing most of his senior season with a broken collarbone but did return for a few playoff games. He totaled more than 1,600 all-purpose yards his junior season and 1,800 all-purpose yards as a sophomore. Listed at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds, Smith joins a running back room that lost redshirt freshman London Montgomery this spring via the transfer portal but still brings back experienced veterans like Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen.

As for Harbour, he was one of two Penn State signees who played in this year’s Under Armour All-America Bowl. A three-time all-state selection, Harbour will be an interior offensive lineman for the Nittany Lions and will most likely end up redshirting this upcoming season.

“Donnie is a three-year starter and has done a tremendous job in the classroom,” said Catholic Memorial head coach Bill Young. “He had a dominant sophomore season and moved inside as a junior, becoming a road grader. Our strength has been running behind him. He’s a great kid with great feet and athleticism.”

Moving forward, Penn State has two players yet to officially enroll, as Imhotep Charter prospects Kenny Woseley and Tyseer Denmark are expected later this month. Both Woseley and Denmark played in the Big 33 game on Memorial Day weekend. Because they were in Mechanicsburg, Pa., to prepare for the game, they had to take their finals a week later than most others, slowing down their enrollment timeline.

Penn State signed the 16th-ranked class in the country back in December. The class was made up of 25 players, 12 of whom earned a four-star rating or better by On3.
