African traders suffering untold hardship over post-shipment inspections – Gov Uzodimma

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has said that African traders face untold hardship as they are being subjected to post-shipment inspections outside the continent.

He said this happens on several occasions with results usually coming out negative.

The Governor spoke during the flag off of the African Export-Import (AFRIEXIM) Bank’s Quality Assurance Centre project in Imo State.

The assurance center is located at Umuowa, Ngor Okpala, and will ensure that products made in Africa meet international standards and technical regulations, thereby promoting exports.

“I recall on several occasions that our people have been subjected to post shipment inspections outside African territory and most of the results usually come out negative,” the Governor said.

“And this has led to and brought about untold hardship to African traders

“My administration in Imo State, with its manstra, prosperity for all, is anchored along the stimulation of the economy and activation of business activities to boost trade, create jobs and engage our people in meaningful and tangible life.

“We are ready and prepared to welcome international investors into the State”
