Rep. John Rose (R-TN) brought his son to work — but things didn't go quite the way he may have anticipated.

After the Memorial Day holiday recess, members of Congress returned to Washington where they began hearings and gave their typical five-minute floor speeches.

Such was the case with Rose, who stood to speak on the conviction of Donald Trump on Friday.

Behind Rose, his 6-year-old son shifted in his seat, leaning closer toward his father so that he was within the C-SPAN camera frame.

Rose argued that Trump should not be held legally accountable for crimes, rather it should be left up to the voters to decide.

"Regardless of one's opinion of the current Republican nominee, we'd be well served to remember the long and cherished position we have in this country of settling our political differences at the ballot box," he said.

That's when his son stuck out his tongue and rolled his eyes back in his head. He then let his head slump to the right with his tongue hanging out of the corner of his mouth.

"Equal justice for all and an overall trust in our justice system is fundamental to who we are as Americans," said Rose.

The young red-haired boy then made crying gestures with his hands over his eyes.

Rose then proposed that District Attorney Alvin Bragg be the one to be "held accountable," not Trump.

That's when the boy seemed to be tugged slightly to the left, and he remained largely out of frame for the remainder of the speech.

"Honestly how we are all feeling after Memorial Day recess week," commented government worker Elizabeth Gonzales on X about the boy's antics.

Media researcher John Lovett called the moment, "One of the more exciting things to happen on C-SPAN."

"Congratulations to this kid for having a perfect day and forever party/work icebreaker anecdote," Britta commented.

"To be fair, he shows more maturity & decorum than Marjorie Taylor Greene," noted political science professor David Darmofal.

Others championed the kid as an "icon," a "king" and with laughing/crying emojis.

However, two individuals suggested that after having a good laugh, folks look up his "unique family environment."
