A congressman called the House Oversight meeting into Dr. Anthony Fauci’s handling of the COVID pandemic “the most insane” he'd ever attended after it was hijacked by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) Monday.
The hearing, at which former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci was put on the hot seat by Republicans, was full of conspiracy theories.
Among them were claims that there was no scientific reason for social distancing and that the true origins of the disease were being covered up.

And then Greene took her turn to speak.
Greene said she wouldn’t recognize Fauci as a doctor, refused to let him answer questions and said he should be in prison.
“Mr. Fauci, because you’re not Doctor,” she said. “You’re Mr. Fauci in my few minutes."
She added that he, “Does not deserve to have a license. As a matter of fact, it should be revoked and he belongs in prison.”

Her outburst was so bad that committee chair James Comer (R-KY) ordered her to “suspend” and refer to Fauci by his title.
Greene’s performance followed fireworks at an earlier Oversight Committee meeting at which she attackedRep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) over her fake eyelashes.
“This might be the most insane hearing I’ve attended,” said committee member Rep. Robert Garcia (D-FL) Monday.
“I lost both of my parents during the pandemic, so I take this very personally, especially when other members of this body – who are tasked to be responsible and actually help the American people — attack medical professionals like you,” he told Fauci.
Ranking Democrat member Jamie Raskin (MD) told Fauci, “They are treating you like a convicted felon. Actually, you probably wish they were treating you like a convicted felon. They treat convicted felons with love and admiration. Some of them blindly worship convicted felons.”
