Trump Gets New Court Date to Challenge Fani Willis - One Month Before the Election

Former President Donald Trump will have a final chance to challenge Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis' presence at his Georgia criminal trial in October - just weeks before he is expected to face President Joe Biden on election day.

Trump's team tried to get Willis disqualified from the trial on the grounds that she had an improper romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee, who was randomly assigned to preside over the trial, ruled that Willis could stay on the case, if Wade was no longer involved.

Trump's appeal of McAfee's decision was docketed on Monday at the Georgia Court of Appeals. Oral arguments for the case are set to begin in October, while Election Day is on November 5. This decision comes just days after Trump was convicted of 34 felonies in Manhattan, connected to hush money payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels.

This is a developing story.
