We get GTA 7 sorta confirmed before GTA 6

Gamers have been anxiously awaiting the eventual arrival of Grand Theft Auto 6 but apparently Take-Two is already thinking about GTA 7.

After years of waiting, it was finally revealed by Rockstar Games and their publisher Take-Two that GTA 6 was coming out in the fall of 2025. It’s already been over a decade since the release of the ever-popular GTA 5 so it’s no surprise that fans are growing antsy over how little information has been shared about GTA 6.

Instead of talking about GTA 6, however, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has started discussing GTA 7.

Will there be a GTA 7?

We don’t know just yet.

While talking about GTA 6 at the TD Cowen 52nd Annual Technology, Media & Telecom Conference, the host asked Zelnick about the future of Grand Theft Auto and Rockstar’s releases.

“GTA 7?” Zelnick replied.

More specifically, would the wait between GTA 6 and GTA 7 be as long as the current gap between GTA 5 and its predecessor, the question continued?

Zelnick responded that Rockstar wasn’t purposefully waiting 12 years between GTA 6 and GTA 7. Instead, developers were working on GTA Online, “a massive, living, breathing ecosystem” that is still growing, and Red Dead Redemption 2. Basically, those were the priorities at the time.

“I do think given the scale of that label, it’s a huge company itself, there isn’t much more to be done. This isn’t a situation where it is 12 years of girth of product, there’s 12 years where Rockstar has been putting out a mass amount of content. And another little title called Red Dead,” he continued.

So Zelnick never said GTA 7 isn’t coming but he didn’t confirm it either. Instead, gamers are more concerned with GTA 6. Leakers have continued to dig around for information on the mysterious yet massive game, even if it means legal issues.
