'Unreal': Declan Rice blown away after what one Newcastle United player did last night

One Newcastle United player did something ‘unreal’ on Monday night.

That’s according to Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice. The Gunners star was given a break when England took on Bosnia and Herzegovina at St James’ Park. The Three Lions picked up a convincing 3-0 win.

It was a special moment for one Newcastle player at St James’ Park on Monday night, and Rice and many others were delighted for him.

Declan Rice reacts after what Newcastle’s Kieran Trippier did for England

Gareth Southgate rested a number of key players for England on Monday night, but he started Kieran Trippier.

The Englishman, like many Newcastle players, had a difficult 2023/24 season.

Trippier came under a ton of criticism, with some saying his form fell off a cliff. There have been rumours that he could be sold as well.

Despite that, Southgate has kept his faith in Tripper, and the Newcastle United star played at left-back for the Three Lions against Bosnia. He did not disappoint his manager

Trippier was solid for large parts of the game and showed fantastic leadership as well. He could still be a very important player for England at the Euros.

What made the game on Monday night more special for Tripper was the fact that he was made the captain. He led the players out on the field at his home ground, St James’ Park, along with his son, Jacob.

Tripper took to Instagram to share his feelings after his special moment, and many of his teammates are delighted for him too.

Arsenal star Rice commented: “Unreal Trips,” while Harry Maguire of Manchester United wrote: “Quality.

Newcastle duo Joe Willock and Bruno Guimaraes also showed him some love.

What scared Newcastle United staff about Trippier in 2024

There has been a lot of speculation around Trippier over the last year.

The Englishman has been an integral part of Newcastle’s success since he joined the club from Atletico Madrid in January 2022.

After two years at St James’ Park, reports linked Trippier to a shock move to Bayern Munich in the winter window at the turn of 2024.

At that point, Newcastle’s staff genuinely feared that Tripper would leave them and move to Germany to join the likes of Harry Kane and Eric Dier there.

That move didn’t materialise then, but there is a 50 per cent chance now that Trippier could leave Newcastle United this summer.
