'Yes': £51m player has just confirmed he'll be staying at Tottenham next season

One Tottenham Hotspur player has confirmed that he will not be leaving the club this summer.

Spurs have a big transfer window ahead of them. Ange Postecoglou is expected to make a few changes, and some of his players could be shown the door.

One of them has even been linked with a move to Napoli, where former Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is set to be announced as the new manager.

Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski reacts after claims he could join Antonio Conte at Napoli

Dejan Kulusevski is one of Tottenham’s most important players.

The Swede joined Spurs initially on a loan deal from Juventus in January 2022. That move was made permanent 18 months later, and he has remained a fan favourite throughout.

However, Kulusevski had a difficult 2023/24 season.

He scored just eight goals and provided three assists in 39 games, and Postecoglou even admitted that Kulusevski had a ‘frustrating’ campaign.

Numerous rumours have linked the attacker with a move away from Tottenham. It was even claimed that Napoli want to gift Kulusevski to Conte this summer.

However, the 24-year-old, who Tottenham reportedly value at £51 million (TuttoMercatoWeb), has no idea where those links came from and has confirmed that he’ll be staying at Spurs next season.

Speaking to Aftonbladet about the Napoli links, he said: “I know nothing about that. I’ve heard that Conte is going there. It will be fun to see him there, to see him back in football.”

When asked if he’ll stay at Spurs, he replied: “Yes, I think so.”

One last chance for Kulusevski

The upcoming 2024/25 season could be make or break for Kulusevski.

The Swede is a tremendous player, there’s no debate there. He is versatile, really effective with the ball at his feet and has the potential to get even better.

However, Postecoglou likes pace on the flanks, which is why he has preferred Brennan Johnson there. Timo Werner has also been retained for another year, which could affect Kulusevski’s game time even more.

As for the number 10 position, James Maddison is expected to start there again despite a really poor end to the 2023/24 season.

Kulusevski has confirmed that he will stay, but if he doesn’t have a good season, there’s every chance he will be shown the door in 2025.
