Roswell (Ga.) Fellowship Christian School offensive lineman Josh Petty is the No. 25 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking. The 6-foot-4, 265-pound five-star has over 30 offers, and after taking his time with the recruiting process, he is ready to focus on his final five schools.

“My final five schools are Stanford, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Ohio State and Florida State,” Petty told On3.

Petty is looking to make a decision before his senior season. He is coming off a strong official visit to Stanford. Now he will visit Georgia Tech officially starting Tuesday on June 4. Petty will visit Tennessee this weekend, then Ohio State on June 14 and then Florida State on June 21.

Stanford is the ‘full package’ for Petty

Troy Taylor and the program in Palo Alto set the bar high.

“The visit to Stanford was great,” Petty told On3’s Steve Wiltfong. “Really enjoyed getting back up to Palo Alto and getting a chance to know the staff better.

“From the visit, I had a great time bonding with some of the recruits who committed as well as getting to know the guys on the team better and learning more about the online room.”

“Stanford is kind of the full package for me,” Petty said. “It has the degree. It has the development and the coaches seem to really have a plan for taking the team to the next level.”

Feeling wanted is important to Petty

It is the final stretch for Petty. He will take his remaining official visits, then work to choose one school later this summer.

“Who makes me feel like a priority will separate one school for me,” Petty told On3 in an interview earlier this spring. “You can tell if a school wants you on how they talk to you and I will go where I am cared about. It is about the little things for me now. These visits will show me a lot about the people and the education. Those things mean a lot to my future.”
