'Different plans'... Fiorentina director shares chances of Manchester United signing Sofyan Amrabat this summer

The decision of whether to sign Sofyan Amrabat this summer is one Manchester United will be deliberating over.

Having arrived on loan at Old Trafford at the very end of the summer transfer window, Sofyan Amrabat has had a strange season at Manchester United.

The Moroccan spent large periods out of the team and was rarely utilised in the role that he was signed to slot into, which left an early judgment call being made by fans who had him written off.

But he enjoyed some late resurgent form at the end of the season – including an excellent outing in the FA Cup final – which has made the debate over whether to keep him or not, an interesting one for fans and Ineos.

As United deliberates, interest from elsewhere is mounting in Amrabat pressuring the club on a decision, now the Fiorentina director has shared an update.

What’s the latest with Sofyan Amrabat and Manchester United?

With United holding all the cards right now over the Amrabat deal, that £21m.) option to buy remains available should United wish to take it up.

Now, Fiorentina director Prade has shared an update on the situation: “I think Sofyan Amrabat wants to stay in Premier League, but Man United didn’t tell us anything yet.

“I’d like to keep Amrabat at Fiorentina but I think he has different plans”.

As Amrabat awaits a decision from United, other clubs are circling, with Galatasaray prepared to offer £8m while Antonio Conte could also be keen to bring the midfielder to Napoli.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace have also been interested, having had scouts watch Amrabat during the final weeks of the season.

Amrabat was a hero for United in the FA Cup final and many regard him as a player United should be looking to bring back this summer.

What should Ineos do with Sofyan Amrabat?

What Ineos want to do with Amrabat this summer relies heavily on what the club are planning on doing in the summer transfer window.

Midfield reinforcements are necessary this summer, with Casemiro and Christian Eriksen likely to exit the club, and at £21m Amrabat wouldn’t be the worst addition in midfield.

The club have already bid for Joao Neves in a deal which would be expensive but a guaranteed starter who the sale of Casemiro would fund.

Signing Amrabat seems like a smart move though, he’s already shown that he can be trusted on the highest level. So Ineos should bring him back.
