Tight end is not a position of need for Kentucky in the 2025 cycle, but it is one the Wildcats always want to address. A target made a step towards making his final decision on Monday.

Following an official visit to Florida, three-star tight end Tae’shaun Gelsey trimmed his list to six schools immediately after the trip to Gainesville. The Jacksonville (Fla.) Riverside senior included Kentucky, Auburn, Florida, Tulane, UCF, and Wake Forest among his top six schools.

Multiple Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) picks have rolled in over the last week for Florida to land Tae’shaun Gelsey. Tulane is the only other school with a summer official visit locked in with the 2025 prospect.

Tae’shaun Gelsey also plays basketball for Riverside. As a junior, the flex tight end recorded over 800 receiving yards. Not many targets at tight end have emerged for Kentucky this cycle. The Wildcats are currently all-in on landing high three-star recruit Brody Lennon. The Cleveland area native has an official visit locked in with the Wildcats from June 14-16.

Kentucky currently has six commitments in the 2025 high school cycle with five on the offensive side of the ball. Javeon Campbell, Isaac “Spike” Sowells Jr., Darrin Strey, and Cortez Thomas are all expected to take official visits to Lexington this weekend.
