'I'm going': Journalist reckons £100m player would happily join Man City this summer

It has been claimed that one specific player would quite happily sign for Manchester City this summer.

Manchester City have been linked with several players ahead of the transfer window already, such as Diogo Costa, Jeremie Frimpong and Joao Neves to name a few.

It seems like one of the players they have been linked to has now made up his mind about signing for Pep Guardiola’s side.

Journalist says 26-year-old will be keen to join Manchester City

With Guardiola’s contract set to expire in 2025, regardless of whether he stays or leaves the club, the opportunity to work with him would entice a player.

Ideally for them, the Catalan tactician commits his long-term future to Manchester City.

But regardless, it is difficult for players to turn down the chance to sign for one of the biggest clubs in world football.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that if Manchester City trigger Bruno Guimaraes’ £100 million release clause, he is likely to say yes to the move.

Jacobs told The Football Terrace: “If Manchester City trigger the Bruno [Guimaraes], I would be relatively certain that Bruno would say, ‘Great, I’m going to join Man City.’ I would be shocked if there was a scenario where the clause was triggered, it was out of Newcastle’s control, I’d be shocked if Bruno then said no, I want to reject that and stay at Newcastle United.”

Last Thursday, Ben Jacobs revealed that Manchester City are likelier than Arsenal to trigger Bruno Guimaraes’ release clause.

It was also reported last Wednesday that City are the favourites to secure the Brazilian international’s services.

Man City have a tough decision on their hands regarding Bruno Guimaraes

Considering Bruno Guimaraes’ stance on the potential transfer seems relatively straightforward, Manchester City have a difficult decision on their hands.

Ultimately, if City fail to trigger Guimaraes’ release clause beyond the deadline this summer, they could risk the chance of losing out on his signature to another club.

But if the Sky Blues feel uneasy taking such a risk, they will have to fork out a £100 million fee to vanquish the competition.

It will be interesting to see which approach falls in line with Manchester City and their interest in Bruno Guimaraes.
