Kevin De Bruyne drops bombshell hint over Saudi Arabia transfer

Kevin De Bruyne has admitted the riches on offer in Saudi Arabia may be too much to turn down as he approaches the end of his Manchester City career.

The midfielder, who turns 33 later in June, is approaching the final year of his contract with City and is one of the top priorities for Saudi Pro League sides alongside Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah.

Speaking to Het Laatste Nieuws, De Bruyne confessed he is already thinking about life after City and revealed he has already had the go-ahead from his wife, Michele, to take the family overseas.

"For Michele, an exotic adventure is okay," he explained. "These are also conversations that we are increasingly having as a family.

"I still have one year left on my contract, so I have to think about what could happen. My eldest child is now eight years old and knows nothing but England. He also asks how long I will play for City. Once the moment comes, we will have to deal with it in a certain way."

Pressed specifically about the interest from Saudi Arabia, De Bruyne admitted: "At my age, you have to be open to everything.

"You're talking about incredible amounts of money in what may be the end of my career. Sometimes you have to think about that. If I play there for two years, I will be able to earn an incredible amount of money. Before that I had to play football for 15 years and I may not even reach that amount yet.

"You have to think about what that could mean next. But at the moment I haven't had to think about that yet."

90min understands City are hoping to tie De Bruyne down to a new contract, with manager Pep Guardiola even urging the Belgian to remain until the end of his career.
