Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) attacked his colleagues in the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, saying that they are endeavoring to humiliate President Joe Biden because he has a stutter.
Biden has long spoken about this stutter, explaining that he was able to overcome it by reading Irish poets aloud in the mirror for hours each day.
Lieu chastised the Republicans, saying that they demanded the transcript of the interview between special counsel Robert Hur and Biden. The president was questioned about classified documents being found by among his boxes in his garage and his Washington office.

When it was provided and reviewed, the transcript showed that Biden said the word "and" approximately four times in a row. Republicans demanded the audio of the interview, which the Justice Department refused to hand over.

He began by dispelling myths that the Justice Department was being weaponized against Donald Trump, while insisting that Republicans simply wanted to obtain audio of Biden's interview for political purposes.
"The gentleman from Arizona gave away the game today when he said why he wanted the audio transcript," said Lieu. "He said we would ask to know if Joe Biden has said 'and, and, and, and.' I want to ask you this question. Special counsel Robert Hur said the written transcript was an accurate rendition of the audio transcript except for some stutters?"
Garland confirmed.
"What the gentleman from Arizona wants is that transcript audio with 'and, and, and, and' because Joe Biden stutters," the Democrat continued. "He has had a stuttering problem his entire life but he overcame stuttering. He was made fun of in school and overcame this disability to become president of the United States, a leader of the free world."
He attacked his "Republican colleagues" for trying to "go after him for his stuttering problem" and demanded "they should apologize."
