'What's coming' - Bruno Fernandes and Cristiano Ronaldo both sent messages after Portugal win vs Finland, they're in full agreement

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes and Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo both sent out poignant messages after Portugal’s 4-2 win over Finland on Tuesday.

Portugal boss Roberto Martinez has called up Manchester United duo Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot for his Euro 2024 squad last month.

Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo, who is Portugal’s captain, also remains part of Roberto Martinez’s plans and was called up for the Euro 2024 squad.

Portugal returned to action on Tuesday for the first of three friendly matches ahead of Euro 2024 in Germany this summer.

Ruben Dias opened the scoring for Portugal inside the opening 20 minutes before Diogo Jota doubled his side’s advantage before half-time.

Fernandes came off the bench after the break and replaced Joao Palhinha, with the United star finding the back of the net in the 55th minute.

Finland fought back late in the second half and Teemu Pukki scored in the 72nd minute before he completed his brace five minutes later.

However, Fernandes ensured that Portugal didn’t blow a 3-0 advantage and the 29-year-old United captain completed his brace in the 84th minute.

Fernandes sends message after Portugal win

Diogo Dalot, much like Bruno Fernandes, came off the bench for Portugal in the second half and secured minutes for his country in the first of the three friendlies.

Following the 4-2 win at the Estadio Jose Alvalade in Lisbon, Portugal will face Croatia on 8th June and the Republic of Ireland on 11th June.

Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo was not part of the matchday squad for the Finland match, despite being captain of his country.

Fernandes, who impressed against Finland, sent out a clear-cut message on social media after the match at the Estadio Jose Alvalade.

The Portugal international welcomed the “first test prep” for Roberto Martinez’s men ahead of their clashes with Croatia and the Republic of Ireland.

“Good first test prep for what’s coming,” he wrote on Instagram, adding a raising hands emoji.

Ronaldo reacts to Portugal win

Ronaldo is set to play in his 11th major international tournament this summer after the United legend was named in the Portugal squad for Euro 2024.

The 39-year-old Portuguese forward has lifted a European Championship with Portugal in 2016 and the Nations League trophy in 2019.

Portugal, who are considered one of the favourites for Euro 2024, are in Group F for the forthcoming tournament alongside Turkey, Georgia and the Czech Republic.

Ronaldo took to Instagram Stories and made his feelings clear after Portugal’s victory over Finland.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner wrote the message “vamos equipa” in Portuguese, which roughly translates to ‘let’s go team’ in English.
