Israel strikes kill 66 in central Gaza in past 24 hours

Israeli strikes have killed dozens in central Gaza in the last day as Palestinians in the devastated strip continue to suffer.

An Al Jazeera correspondent reported 66 killed in a 24-hour window.

It came as Israel launched a ground incursion into the Al-Bureij refugee camp, displacing significant numbers of people towards the western areas of central Gaza and the city of Deir Al-Balah.

It is the second time the Israeli army has carried out a ground attack on the camp.

Israel's war on Gaza has killed at least 36,550 people since it began in October, according to the Palestinian territory's health ministry.
