'He's going to': Micah Richards suggests Man City have a player who will have a disappointing Euro 2024

Micah Richards has suggested that one Manchester City might struggle during Euro 2024.

Manchester City have plenty of players whose countries will be depending on them to rise to the occasion.

For Belgium, the likes of Kevin De Bruyne and Jeremy Doku spring to mind.

Micah Richards suggests one Man City star will struggle during Euro 2024

Similarly, Spain will be hoping their vice-captain Rodri replicates his form for Manchester City for his national team in Germany.

The likes of Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias and Matheus Nunes will also have to step up to the plate for Portugal at the competition.

While England will be relying on Phil Foden as well, Micah Richards has hinted that Euro 2024 might be a tournament to forget for him.

On BBC’s Match of the Day: Top 10, the pundit said: “He’s going to play on the left [wing] and he’s not going to have an effect on the game. If he was going to play number 10, he’d be probably number two [on his list of players who will star at Euro 2024].”

“The three I would go with is [Declan] Rice, holding, I’d just go with [Phil] Foden and [Jude] Bellingham as two [number] eights.”

Wayne Rooney also feels the Three Lions should play the Stockport-born attacker behind the striker at the tournament.

Stan Collymore claimed that the six-time Premier League winner should play as England’s number 10 over Jude Bellingham.

Micah Richards raises a fair point about Phil Foden

As Micah Richards stated, if Phil Foden is deployed as a number 10 at Euro 2024, he would expect him to light up the tournament.

But the pundit expects Gareth Southgate to stick him out on the left wing, as he did at the 2022 World Cup.

In fairness, City’s number 47 did perform during the tournament but he did not play to the best of his capabilities.

The same might be the case at Euro 2024 if Foden is not played in his best position.

Ultimately, the Manchester City midfielder is the only player who might encounter such a situation, with his superstar teammates such as Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane expected to start in their natural positions.
